Artwork

Honestly, if I could cry, I would. My house has been taken over by three foot high drawings of who knows what! Not only are they very detailed, they are drawn in PERMANENT MARKER!! I have this three year old who is Picasso (in his mind). He loves to draw. And he does it ALL THE TIME!! I have talked to him time and time again about drawing on the walls. I have told him that it makes our house look ugly. But nothing seems to help. It's not like we don't have blank paper in the house that he can draw on, I guess he thinks he needs a bigger canvas. I don't know what to do! There are murals in my Front Room (the green, written in red crayon, so it is kind of hard to see), my downstairs kitchen, my bedroom and his bedroom. What do I do? I am wondering if there might be a way to curb the need to draw on my walls, but not stifle this creative outlet. Any advice?

Try getting a great big roll of white paper that can become a very large canvas on the kitchen floor. As he is done with a section you can tear it off or just roll it to the next clean area for him to keep going on. We also made a special area to hang art work so that it can be on the wall. Ours is kind of a clothes line down a hall wall with clips on Brianna's level so she can hang 10 or so masterpieces at once and feel like she has a real art gallery. Good Luck!
